Gluten is a protein in wheat, rye, barley. For me the big deal was when I turned 40. I knew something was wrong because all my joints hurt. I was in agony. I had tests performed that indicated that I was very allergic to gluten. My body can not digest or break down the gluten. Gluten is a hidden ingredient in so many food products. I don’t know what it is about gluten that tastes so good! It really makes me angry to be allergic to gluten.
I am having a hard time accepting that I have this allergy.
All the preparation and money involved in making sure I have healthy gluten-free food me and my family stresses me out at times and triggers a variety of feelings in me; anger is one of them.
I embraced EFT tapping on a deeper level in 2010, it just so happened to be the year I turned 40. I am so grateful for tapping because it turns off the stress response and helps me to deal with all the emotions that came up around food as well as other areas of my life (like wanting to be a mom and turning 40). In this video below I am doing some F*ck You Tapping combined with an Anger releasing exercise. I really connect to my anger and deep rage about having this allergy and its challenges. This healing journey is not always easy and anger can be scary. Safely moving the energy of anger is such a freeing experience and I always feel better when I do it. You will too! There is a lot of F*ck You Tapping and strong emotions in the video, I don’t recommend watching it with children in the room. This is a photo of me some time around the summer that changed my life forever. I was a high honors student, all-around athlete, Captain of the volleyball team and had a bright future ahead of me. I was admitted to a psych hospital July 14th, 1987. I was a naïve 17-year old.
I had no idea places like that hospital existed or the things that went on behind locked doors.
It was not a safe place. I was scared and enraged to be locked up. I did not hide my anger…which did not help my situation. They labeled me with Bipolar Disorder. I don’t know if that diagnosis is correct. Today I don’t care about the label or what anyone thinks of me (at least not too much…I am human) I have been on a healing journey and have learned an abundance of tools and healing modalities. One of my heart’s desires is to share what I learned and help others heal. I have been off medication for over 5 years. I eat right: juice, gluten-free and limited sugar. I take vitamins. I don’t drink or smoke, I TAP. I am free…free to be me. I have the Emotional Freedom that comes with tapping.
Being labeled mentally ill was one of the most devastating things ever done to me.
Unfortunately I was also abused by a worker in the hospital. He really hurt me, however the stigma of being labeled broke me. Being Labeled hurt me in a way I am not even sure I have the words to explain. I believe my personal stigma was worse than the public or my peer’s judgment against me. I attempted suicide the summer of 1988 just before going off to college. I hated my life and felt like I was never going to be whole again.
EFT helped me heal and let go of the stigma of mental illness.
I now walk down the street with confidence and self respect. I am finally free from my stigma and your judgment. I no longer worry what you think of me or if you will find out about my story. In fact, I now want you to…it is pretty amazing!
Clergy Sexual Abuse was in the media in 2002, the year I married a survivor.
Unaware of the challenges ahead, although I knew about my husband’s abuse, I did not realize the stress and impact it would have on me or my marriage. I wonder if people stop and think of who is hurt by Clergy Sexual Abuse? The innocent child of course. But who else? How about the family, friends, neighborhood – what if it is all of us? Some may never take the time to feel into this because it is too painful to really think about. Just like one pebble thrown into a lake affects everything, I believe it to be the same with clergy sexual abuse. The emotional burden on a survivor and his family and friends is a daily struggle that is difficult for me to define.
EFT Tapping helps me deal with the daily stress of loving a man who was sexually abused by a priest.
The depth of this crime is heartbreaking. I am grateful for the courage of my husband and his willingness to allow me to share our pain in hopes of helping others heal. He attempted to start a support group and was on the front page of our local news paper on Sunday August 29, 2004. He broke his silence and I am breaking mine. I can see he carries a pain I can not reach. There is a distance to him I can not shorten…tapping helps me deal with all my frustrations of loving a man so distant and far away. There is hope. Love can be found after abuse. EFT tapping helps me love him more and know it is the crime that was done to him that I hate. I continue to tap and do my work daily and I feel inner peace…as this ripple effect impacts our world I pray for peace to all.
One of my favorite exercises to teach my clients is my FU Tapping.
Although cursing is frowned upon it has a tremendous healing component when done while tapping. People who have known me my whole life have been shocked to see me in my FU videos; it is not a side I show too often. I am not promoting cursing or recommending we go around rattling off the F-bomb all day long. In fact, if anyone curses in front of our son, we ask them to put 25 cents in the Curse jar. However, I am strongly suggesting you curse while tapping. You will move and clear your energy blocks easier and faster.
Why does swearing promote healing?
Neurobiologist are learning that the brain may respond to curse words in a different part of the brain. EFT Tapping calms the release of cortisol triggered by the response in the stress centers of the brain: the hypothalamus, the amygdala, and the hippocampus when the acupressure points are stimulated while talking about traumatic memories, experiences and emotions. Doing FU tapping accesses more quickly the part of the brain that processes emotion. The clients I work with may not care about how or why this works…they are just feeling the benefits. I myself am so happy to have my life back. I find EFT and the brain interesting and even fascinating…and a bit difficult to explain what is going on. I like to say EFT Tapping marries psychology and acupuncture and if cursing while doing it helps healing occur faster…by all means…go for it…with permission and confidence say it as you feel it…use the F-bomb, do your FU Tapping…you will be amazed at how freeing it really is! Do some FU Tapping 10 minutes a day or a few times a week. You will be amazed how free, light and peaceful you will feel when you are done!
Wanting a baby and not being able to conceive is a brutal pain too many couples experience.
Many also experience the grief of miscarriage, a loss and a pain that seems like it will last forever. With infertility comes a rollercoaster of emotions…sadness, anger, grief, despair, frustration, jealousy, confusion and even a feeling of failure are only some. The stress of being unable to conceive takes a tremendous toll. It affects all areas of life, all relationships and even job performance. It is all consuming for some, it was for me. To many there may seem to be no way to escape the pressure, sadness and even hopelessness.
What if it didn’t have to be so painful?
What if there was a tool to make the journey to parenthood a joyful and hope- filled experience? And what if this same tool could help a couple who was not able to conceive work through all the feelings and find acceptance and peace.
We had our son when I was 43 my husband was 59.
We both have a lot trauma in our past and I was riddled with financial fear and a lack of faith in God; I was even angry at God. I took responsibility for my pain and story and got serious with my healing journey. I found EFT tapping and I tapped. I believe with every cell of my being that EFT helped our dream to come true. We did have a miscarriage and Tapping was right there to help me heal my broken heart. I feel like I have 2 babies, one spirit baby we named Aidan and our Michael who is almost 2.
EFT Tapping is a Relatively New Stress Management Tool.
It has been around for about 25-30 years. It helps with numerous issues where nothing else has. Having my baby is a dream come true…however the gift of healing my life…allowing me the freedom and confidence to be me so I can be the mom I want to be and live my life from a place of Inner Peace is a freedom like no other.
Research shows that EFT tapping reduces cortisol levels and a side effect of that is an increase in feeling positive emotions, like hope, joy and happiness, and a decrease in negative emotions including anxiety.
EFT is a powerful technique for treating stress and anxiety because it specifically targets the part of the brain called the amygdala and hippocampus, which are the parts of the brain that help you figure out if you are in danger or not. Anxiety is a type of stress response usually involving fear or dread…the problem is when this feeling is all the time even when there is nothing dangerous going on. The body is in a constant state of stress. Stress and anxiety are not the same thing, however they do have the same impact on the brain…negative. The fight or flight response is triggered and the stress hormone cortisol is released as well as adrenalin. When the body is under stress and anxiety for a long time it can increase your risk of many physical and mental problems. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that 85% of all disease has an emotional element…I believe it is much higher. I have not met a person who has been sick that wasn’t stressed first!
EFT is a great tool to use. Although it looks weird it is extremely effective in helping you reprogram you and your bodies reaction to stress. The emotional freedom that occurs from tapping improves the quality of your life, opens doors to better health, and provides a more positive outlook.
Breakthroughs can happen as you feel better, you walk differently in your life. Your dreams become a reality.

Did you know living or working with Toxic people is bad for YOUR health? It’s stressful, it’s painful and it is damaging your brain. That’s right it is causing you to have brain damage! Confirming the importance of maintaining a healthy brain and the need to reduce chronic stress. The good news is the damage to the brain can be reversed. We have to take responsibility for our heath and take action NOW! We can not change other people! We can only help ourselves. This is a serious problem, and the problem is yours…your brain is suffering. You need to DETOX YOUR LIFE! You must begin to take excellent care of YOU and YOUR BRAIN.
Tapping is a tool that turns off that fight or flight stress response. Studies show lower levels of cortisol after tapping so Tap! Tap! Tap! and keep on tapping. Set a timer for 5 to 10 minutes and tap. Make it a daily practice. Don’t suffer anymore, make the changes needed to protect you, your health, your joy and your dreams. Taking care of you involves all areas of your life. Tapping will help you find more balance in your life. You can begin to feel better today and your brain will thank you.
According to the American Psychological Association Money, work and the economy continue to be the most frequently cited causes of stress. How many people are losing sleep, having stress related health problems, and are just not able to function properly. Feeling like it impossible to have joy in their lives? Too many in my opinion. I myself for years suffered from financial insecurity, fear and stress around money. I can remember the stress in high school of needing to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wanted to be happy! I had no idea what career path I should take. It Stressed me out! My parents were always fighting about money. I didn’t want that. I wanted to be successful, have a family buy a house and have time and money to travel. Be financially secure. I didn’t want to be a trapped in a 9 to 5 job I didn’t like in order to do that. I wanted to do something I love. I picked Gym teacher because I was good at sports and loved my coaches, but I really wanted to be a Dr. I didn’t become either, the twist and turns of my teenage years, the “girl interrupted” Oprah story of my life lead me on a journey of deep pain and trauma. As I endured the stressors of my life I found healing….and the gift of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) also know as Tapping.

Learning to use technology causes me to feel so much stress.
My brain turns off, I feel stupid, frustrated and wish I was born 10-20 years later. I am so grateful I have tapping to help me overcome my fears so I can do what I know I was born to do…help people by instilling hope, possibility and guidance. I am sharing my story of hope. Since the way people communicate is through social media I have to learn technology…and this is where tapping comes in.

Because tapping turns off the fight or flight stress response, I tap and than have access to my brain to do what every kid today in America can do. It’s like these kids come out ready and able to use technology but because I am stressed I struggle. I know I will be able to build this website, communicate through social media and do what needs to be done because I have tapped and freed my mind and body of the stress hormone called cortisol. Lowering cortisol is really important. Being under stress for a long period of time can put the body at risk of so many different health problems. Things like anxiety, depression, weight gain, memory problems, heart disease and digestive problems are just some examples. Tapping is a relatively new stress management technique and not too many people know what it is. This cutting edge mind body tool is a gift of our time.
